Learn The Mind Blowing Secrets Behind Contract Growing
The Dotted Line - The Future of Contract Growing

Regionally we are losing trees by the millions and we don't have the trees or the resources to do much about it.  Emerald ash borer and an economic recession have resulted in a situation which has caused nurseries to go out of business and communities to forgo planting. Come learn how some communities and nurseries are solving this problem through contract growing.  Participants will learn how to set up a contract growing program where nurseries can provide adequate supplies of diverse species at the best prices and municipalities can get trees planted to replace those lost to emerald ash borer for years to come.

The content is suitable for a government and contractor audience.

Bio:  Lydia Scott, Community Trees Program Manager, The Morton Arboretum.  The Community Trees Program provides education and outreach to landowners and managers across the region to improve the urban forest.  Lydia has managed the Community Trees Program for more than two years and has nearly 20 years experience in municipal public works and forestry.   Lydia is a certified arborist and has a Masters of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Illinois.
